I write poems, political commentary and creative nonfiction.
My writing (or, even better, my co-writing) has appeared in, among other outlets, the undersung Dilattante Army, as well as In These Times, The Nation, The American Prospect, The Forge, Newsweek, The Brooklyn Rail. (Thanks to the Ditmas Park Blog for calling that last “incredibly good.”)
I’m in some anthologies, too.
What God is Honored Here (2019), the first collection of writings on infertility, miscarriage and infant loss by BIPOC peope. The High Cost of Free Shipping (2020) is about Amazon. Oil And Water… and Other Things That Don’t Mix (2010) was collection of essays to raise money for Gulf Coast cleanup. Knitting Through It (2008) is a collection of essays about crafting through tough times.
I once was a union journalist! I’m still very proud that in 2009, my feature “At CUNY, Adjunct Health Care is Broken,” won the Max Steinbock award, the only national prize given to an individual writing for union publications by the International Labor Communications Association (ILCA).
